Default Roles and Permissions
Default Roles are created by us and cannot be altered or deleted. They are designed as a way of quickly getting you started with creating and completing Inspections and cover a range of requirements and applications. Below is a brief outline and example of what each Role is designed for:
- Owner - The Role of Owner is given to you when you create a Workspace. It gives you full control over every feature and function in the app with no limitations. Only Owners can delete a Workspace. There can only be one Owner of a Workspace at a time, so if you want to pass Ownership to someone else for whatever reason, see here: Transfer Ownership of Workspaces
- Admin - The Role of Admin will let a Member do anything except delete a Workspace. Admins have the ability to manage the Workspace, from inviting new Members to creating Themes and Templates.
- Inspector - The Role of Inspector is designed for Members who are going to be creating and carrying out Inspections. They are more limited in terms of what they can and cannot delete and have more restricted access when it comes to managing the Workspace.
Default Roles are a starting point, if you need more specific, fine-grained restrictions for individuals then you can create a Custom Role specifically to suit your needs. For more info on Custom Roles, see here: Creating Custom Roles
